Bali, August 2003

Andy came with us. We spent 7 nights at the Tjampuhan hotel in Ubud, in the heart of Bali. It's above the $35 limit--about $70 for a non-aircon room, but it is paradise. Sooz has stayed there on 5 different trips. We hired a car and driver for several days and saw lots of good stuff. The most photogenic, of course, being the rice terraces.

We flew from San Francsico to Hong Kong, spent the night at the hotel in the airport, continued the next morning to Denpasar at the southern tip of Bali, then took a taxi to Ubud, a trip of about an hour. Upon leaving, we reversed the process, spending another night in Hong Kong, then home.
